About the Electrical Safety Authority
The Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) is a stand-alone, financially self-sustaining not-forprofit corporation accountable to a Board of Directors and operating as an Administrative Authority under the Safety and Consumer Statutes Administration Act1996, and an Administrative Agreement with the Ministry of Consumer Services for the purposes of administering the provisions of Part VIII of the Electricity Act 1998 and it’s Regulations.
ESA is accountable to the public through the Ministry of Consumer Services for meeting its legislative and contractual obligations in the delivery of its delegated regulatory mandate. At the same time, it is accountable to its regulated sectors for results, sound management, and efficiency.
